MeshCore Aspen

Independent MeshCore repeater, room, companion and bot roles sharing one LoRa radio.

MeshCore Aspen lets a repeater, a room, a companion and a command bot run together through one LoRa radio. Each role keeps its own identity, so other MeshCore radios can address them separately. They still share the frequency and airtime, so adding another role means sharing the radio’s existing capacity.

The standalone Aspen firmware runs on a XIAO ESP32-S3R8 with a Wio SX1262 radio. Its bot can run Lua and WebAssembly programs, and you can test commands locally before installing them on the node. Birch moves the roles onto a Go host connected to a WiFi modem; Willow is the experimental Hew host implementation. Pine is a smaller nRF52840 variant with a repeater and Lua bot.

The project site has firmware downloads and guides for choosing hardware, setting up a node and writing bot commands. The public repository contains the firmware, host tools and examples. Original project code is Apache-2.0; upstream MeshCore and other dependencies retain their own licences.
